FAQ / Tips:

Top Ten Most Frequently Asked Questions About Hair

1. Question: Will you recommend a hair style for me?

Answer: Yes, and Consultations are free so please feel free to book a 10 minute appointment with me. The Studio has many hair-styling magazines so I can show you many different styles. But I encourage all of my clients to bring in their own pictures. Remember, a picture is worth a thousand words.

2. Question: Will you recommend a colour that you think is best for me?

Answer: Yes, please see my answer to the previous question.

3: Question: What kind of colors products do you use?

Answer: I use GOLDWELL (GOLDWELL is a German company) colors exclusively, because I believe they are the best product on the market. And my clients deserve only the best!

4. Question: What is the price for hair cut?

Answer: For Women: $50. For Men: $50. Not including all applicable taxes.

5. Question: How much do you charge for color services?

Answer: I charge $60 dollars to colour short hair and $70 to $95 for longer hair, depending on the length.

Highlights cost from $80 to $125.

6. Question: What hair products do you recommend? -

Answer: My recommendations for products vary with the seasons. Like a Cook using different ingredients at different times of the year I tend to change my preferences or use different spices.

I am very faithful to Goldwell in general, but being French I cannot help myself and I tend to cheat a little with others like TIGI, SEBASTIEN, KMS or other different products we have at the salon. It's always good to try new things on occasion...

- For dry hair?

Answer: I use one or two deep conditioners for dry hair and I recommend that people with very dry hair get a treatment as it will definitely help. Why two conditioners, you may ask? I have found that after using the same product for a while you don't always get the same response. By switching between two different products on alternate days, you will often get better results. Also it's always more fun to have different flavours in your hair, isn't it?

- For damaged hair?

Answer: The only way to really treat badly damaged hair is by starting with a great little hair cut. A hair cut is really the only way to solve the problem. But if you are really attached to your lovely long tresses, a treatment on a weekly basis will help.

Goldwell has two fantastic products for badly damaged hair - "for dry and porous" and "for dry and damaged".

Also the "After Party" product from TIGI is something I recommend using after you shampoo and condition your hair. Apply the product while your hair is still wet, and it will definitely help you to be able to comb out your hair. If you use it after blow-drying it will help prevent "frizzies" and give a little texture to your hair. I think it is a great product at a great value.

- For oily hair?

Answer: You need to start with a shampoo formulated and designed specifically for oily hair. Avoid using conditioner close to the roots and if your hair is very oily, avoid using conditioner all together. I highly recommend Goldwell shampoo and conditioner for oily hair.

A Color Treatment or High Light can be a great help, as the process will change the PH balance of your hair. At a basic level, chemical treatments damage your hair slightly and dry it out. If you have extremely oily hair this can actually work to your benefit!

- For normal hair?

Answer: How lucky for you! For you lucky souls with normal hair, all you need is regular care! I recommend Goldwell shampoo and conditioner for normal hair.

- For fuzzy, out of control hair?

Answer: I recommend TIGI "After Party" This is my favorite - Honestly, don't get fooled by the silly, bright pink package - it's awesome!

One of the great things about this product is that you can use it on your hair when it is either wet or dry.

If your hair is difficult to control, use the TIGI product after you have shampooed and conditioned your hair and apply the product while your hair is still wet.

Alternatively, you can apply "After Party" after blow drying your hair.

Don't use too much, just a little, the size of a thumb nail is all you need! Your hair will feel soft and will smell fantastic! Love it, love it, LOVE IT!

- To add texture?

Answer: There are many types of hair waxes, muds and other products on the market. It all depends on what type of end result you want to achieve. Please come and ask me.

- To add volume?

Answer: Rule Number One: Don't use conditioner too close to the roots.

Rule Number Two: Use a round brush. The key to getting volume, and keeping it, is to use a little mousse or a light gel. Please come and ask me.

7. Question: Do I have to make an appointment?

Answer: Yes! Especially if you want to ensure getting a specific time on the weekend. I only take drop-ins if I have an opening in my appointment book. So please book an appointment, I don't want either one of us to be disappointed, darling!

8. Question: Do you take walk-in appointments?

Answer: Yes, but only if I do not have a client booked already.

9. Question: What if I have to cancel my appointment?

Answer: I would appreciate it if you could please give me twenty-four hours notice. And then I will do my best to re-schedule you.

10. Question: Do you do take appointments for special events like Wedding Parties?

Answer: Yes! I love doing Blow Drys and Up Dos, and being a part of those specials moments in life! Bonne chance, Mes Amis and CHEERS!
